10:52 pm - My life is now a Lady GaGa song, and that frightens the hell out of me
|
In a moment of epic fail, I am home, and my cell phone is in Birmingham.
Awesome.
But, I had a half-naked fitzette in the backseat of my car today.
Between that and all the necks I got to hug, it is well worth the cost of shipping my phone back here. (Especially since my dad is awesome and is putting it on his UPS account.)
*is exhausted*
Totally worth it.
(P.S. I have some comments and emails to respond to and I totally will, but right now I'm going to sleep.)

1. NaNoWriMo is going very well. Yesterday I got back on top of my word count, getting ahead for the first time in a week. Whoo! And now the story is starting to pick back up, now that the dreaded two week slump is out of the way.
2. The mods of hp_canon_fest are absolute goddesses. And no, they did not pay me to say that. Thank you so much, ladies, for my extension.
3. I talked to my brother on the phone tonight. Yay! 4. I went ahead and signed up for percy_big_bang. Because really, if someone needs to get banged, it's Percy.
5. The bad thing about it is that I already have ideas for it, and I really have a lot of others stuff to work on first.
6. I left work and got in my car and cried tonight. I'm lonely. I don't admit it often, but I think with winter coming on I'm feeling a little blue, and it would be nice to have someone to come home to.
So, that is what's going on with me. What about y'all?

10:34 pm - Gooooooooo Dawgs!
|
|
I wrote a drabble for micolerose 's kissing meme, here. It's Charlie and Viktor. All those surprised, raise your hands.
I went to Java Monkey to go and work on my novel today with some my favorite ATL NaNo'ers. I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but since I am not nearly as far behind now as I was, say, Thursday, I am feeling much better about my novel.
Last night our small group went bowling, making three nights in a row I was able to flirt with Mr. Choir Director. I have no idea whether he's interested or not, but he's fun and has a good sense of humor, so I figure I'll still end up with a good friend out of the deal, and I am always excited about that.
GEORGIA JUST BEAT AUBURN!!! Thank goodness. We needed that win so bad!

Because it's awesome!
1. Leave a list of fictional characters in your journal that you would love to get a message from. 2. It is your friend-list's mission, should they choose to accept it, to write you an in-character "comment" from a character on that list.

11:17 am - I Can't Stop the Rain, but I Can Hold You Til it Goes Away
|
1. NaNo is going well. I'm a little bit behind numbers wise, like about seven hundred words, but I know that I can easily make that up. I would like to get a little bit ahead going into this weekend.
2. Um, did I mention that I got to eat lunch with mugglemamaand redheadsarehotthis weekend? Fandom friends and fried pickles for the win.
( My Weekend in a Nutshell )7. Dear god, it has been pouring all day. Last year we would have killed for rain like this.
8. *hugs to you all*
9. The title of my post is from one of my most favorite songs ever, When The Rain Comes, by Third Day.

9:26 am - Boom-De-Yada, Boom-De-Yada
|
1. This story about how scientists are studying a giant crack in the ground in Ethiopia to figure out how the ocean floor works makes me happy. I love learning about science. Our world is a cool, cool place.
2. Also, it reminds me of this video. Which is reason number bazillion and one why I will happily marry either Mike Rowe or Ben Bailey. Or Josh Bernstein. Oh, hai, pretty, intelligent men. I know it's been out for about a year now, but seriously, it makes me giddy. And the Deadliest Catch men llok so completely uncomfortable. You can tell they'd rather risk their lives on a boat than be forced to sing in public.
3. And I'll marry any one of them, as long as I can have James Marsden's babies. I believe my love for him is already well documented, but this article makes me love him just a little bit more.
4. Speaking of a soft waistline and hips, I defnitely still have those, but I have managed to lose five pounds. Yay!
5. A patient asked me if the CPhT and I were married the other day. Both of us looked at her and, in perfect unison, said, "To each other?" Which, yeah, if we didn't work together (you know, and he wasn't already married) could happen, but I cannot imagine working in this tiny office with someone all day long and then going home with them.
6. NaNo is going well. I'm at 7699 right now. My goal is still 75000 words, but even if I don't make it I should still hit well over fifty thousand. Anything above 60k would be great.
7. I just got vindicated at work for something that never should have been. That's on top of being thrown under the bus twice in the last month, once by my office manager, and once by a patient. I was not at fault in either instance, and felt very much betrayed by the words. I've tried looking for new jobs in the past, and it's never come to much, but here I am, looking again.
8. I'm cooking tonight for tomorrow night. I'm making chili, and also a pineapple pudding cake. Y'all come over if you want.
9. Hugs to those who are going through a hard time right now. I love y'all and you are, without a doubt in my prayers.
10. To those who I owe drabbles, they are coming, don't worry.

9:04 pm - How 'bout them apples.
|
I got his number. And called him.
And okay, the call only lasted for, like, a second, while I told him that we were definitely having small group tomorrow night, but whatev.
However, there was a legitimate reason that we thought we'd cancel small group tomorrow, and so I got his number for the purpose of letting him know. Please think good thoughts/say a prayer for my roommates' mother. She went to the hospital last night after complaining of high blood pressure. At first they thought that maybe her potassium was just super-low, but once they realized she had a history of stroke they have begun to run a whole bunch of other tests.
I think they think she may have had another one.
She's functioning, she's just not her normal self. She's still at the hospital, and is tired of being there, but depending on how her tests come out they'll release her in the morning.
********
In other news, I still have the block, and that is not good with NaNo coming up. So, like fitzette did earlier this afternoon, I am taking drabble prompts. Porny ones if you want.

10:49 am - Brought to you by the Geek Squad
|
Not the computer people. I'm talking Geek Squad, 3 Day style. More on that later. Here is what I ended up doing this weekend.
( Here's What I Did This Weekend )
I also wanted to talk for a few minutes about why I crewed this weekend. Mostly this is for me, but you can read it if you want to.
( Why I Crew )
A couple of other things real quick, because I need to put them down before I forget or go crazy.
( Long Boring Story is Long.... and Boring )
There's other stuff I have going on and what not, but you guys have much more important things going on right now. I just wanted to say that I love you and I'm praying for you.

10:15 pm - In my Osh-Koshes
|
|
1. Mr. Choir Director did not come to our house tonight. I don't know why; maybe he got lost in the ghetto, which is what he calls our neighborhood. That's a long story that I'll tell you later if you want to hear it. It's not really that interesting, though.
2. I had crew day today, which was a lot about finding out what we will be doing this weekend. I will be at the information tent and at towel service, and getting up at 4:30 Saturday morning to help make lunches. 3. I will be getting up in a little less than five hours to head to Opening Ceremonies. BLARGH!!! But we will get to take naps while the walkers are out of camp on Saturday morning! My dad is driving me up there at four am because he is a saint!
4. I do not often help kick up a shitstorm, but gosh darn it, if you crap on my friends I will, to quote Mercedes, take you to the carpet.
5. (I almost had number one say 'Mr. Choir Director did not come tonight,' but lets face it, I have no idea whether he did or not. All the better for him if he did, I suppose. And I knew you people would have a field day if I hadn't managed to proofread that one.)
6. I think that is all. I'll catch y'all on the flipside.

7:48 pm - I have a lot of feelings...
|
|
Happy Things! I paid off my car today!!! I am so frakkin' thrilled, y'all. Today's weather was absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm taking off Thursday and Friday for the Atlanta Breast Cancer 3 Day.
Ack Things! I am attempting things like packing for it. Pray for no rain, please, because it is supposed to really cool off, and I would hate for the walkers to be miserable. Thursday is crew day. I will be at Lake Lanier Islands all afternoon learning about how to direct people around camp. At least that's what I think I'll be doing. When I come home from crew day, we will have our first small group at our house. Mr. Choir Director will be there. I have to leave after Bible study to go to my Dad's house, because he is driving me to LLI again so that I can be there before the walkers. I have to be there at 5 am, which means leaving his house at 4 am. My Dad is awesome. He'll be picking me up on Sunday at Turner Field. I have a crapload of laundry to do, and my room is a mess in my digging for the right stuff to wear for this weekend.
Handwringing Things! Do you think if I keep staring at the weather report for Saturday and Sunday it will suddenly decide to warm up? I have to go to Wal-Mart. That always makes me wring my hands. See item 5 under Ack Things!
Oh, and Character Sketches. I have ten days to do those. And finish my hp_canon_fest piece, because I'd really like to start finish that before NaNo!
So, what are your Mental Illness Numbers (TM Joshilyn Jackson) set at right now? Mine's at eleventy one.

9:17 am - I could not live in Seattle...
|
|
All this rain is making me angsty. I could not handle living in the Pacific Northwest or maybe London for that matter, but I'm still pushing to spend six weeks there two summers from now. :)
Speaking of that, I did see Mr. Choir Director last night. I went to get some more tea as he was coming in the building so I made a point to go talk to him about how his house-hunting experience had gone on Monday. Then I dorked out and commented on the weather. *facepalm* Oh, well, maybe he can forget about that before next Wednesday.
Since it is rainy and I am angsty, I am in need of some good angsty fic. Tell me your favorites. Or! Even better! Drabble me some in the comments.
So what are you lovelies up to this weekend?

9:30 am - It's kind of a blah day...
|
I like Fridays a whole lot more than I used to. Used to be I worked ten to sixish Monday through Thursday, then seven to three on Fridays, which while it isn't the worst schedule in the world, was not fun. Especially since I danced on Thursday nights and was all YAY! ENDORPHINS!!! when I got home.
Now though, dance is on Mondays and my schedule is seven to three Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and ten to sixish Tuesdays and Thursdays. Much better. I feel a lot better on this schedule.
And usually, time goes pretty fast in the mornings. The first few hours of the day fly by, and it's eleven o'clock before I know it, and I've been at work for half the day without even thinking about it.
Not today though. Oh my goodness, not today.
As I write this it is not even nine thirty.
I'm also in a mood and not up to the CPhT's jokes.
So let's (once again) talk about reading and writing. Feel free to make comments and indignant remarks below. :) ( Q and A under the cut, but I don't know where the rest of the letters went )
current mood: blah

9:42 am - Moses Supposes His Toeses Are Roses
|
The rain has started again here, and may I say that we're all a little paranoid? The last time it started out as a light rain for the first forty-eight hours.
Went down to see O play softball this weekend. She did okay. There were a couple defensive plays she probably should have made, but whatever, I realize that I expect more from her than I do from others.
In case you were wondering why Moses Supposes is my title, we're learning the dance in tap right now. It's a lot of fun, but you see where they start dancing on the table, right at about the one minute mark? Watch the next ten seconds. After two weeks, that's what I know.
NaNoWriMo: I signed up. I have no idea what I'm writing. Suggestions?
Right now work is slow today, especially when compared to Friday. But we shall see how much worse it gets in just a bit....
You know, I would probably feel better if I would take my medicine over the weekend, instead of just during the week. *facepalm*
I think that is all for now. I'm sure I have more to tell you, I just can't think of it right now.
current mood: blah

2:56 pm - My tags are all alliterative. Aren't I cool?
|
1. Um, it's October. Did you guys realize this?
2. But it being October means that it's fall! And fall weather is the best. And I love fall clothing- nothing too heavy but short sleeves are a little too light!
3. Happiness is having your dad say to you, "You know, Acafellas was good, but I liked Preggers better."
4. It's also having your dad call you up and ask if you want to go to dinner because he'll be up your way tonight.
5. Especially when you were planning on having Special K tonight for dinner.
6. Actually, I really like the Cinnamon Pecan Special K. It almost takes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Almost.
7. Going down to see the sibs this weekend. O has a day of fall ball, and since we missed it last year for my cousin's wedding, we're definitely going this year. My mother will be joining us. *sigh*
8. Using the prompt "lack of privacy" I wrote the most non-smutty fic possible for that prompt for the beautiful queenb23more . I like to go against the grain and all. It is Charlie/Viktor, pg-13 for language. I think some of you saw the drabbles that I wrote for you, but some of you may not have, so they're there at my fic journal, labeled with your names.
9. The week has been slowly getting better after its eventful nonstart. There was a Mr. Choir Director sighting last night. We briefly talked SEC football- Poor guy's a Bama fan, though I am too, come to think of it, at least when they are wiping the field with Arkansas. :) It's hard to play the get to know you game on Wednesday nights, though, because there are so many people there and a very limited time.
10. Matty Diaz, you broke my heart last night, and I know you feel badly about it, but gosh darn it, y'all almost had it. Oh, well, there's always next season.
( This makes me ridiculously happy )
current mood: cheerful

3:21 pm - Not Underwater Yet
|
I'm waiting for the 'I Survived the Floods of '09' tee shirts to go up on cafepress.
There may be some there all ready, I don't know.
As far as I know, mine and ours are all well. There was a little water in the basement of our house and a tree fell, but the way that it fell it cradled the corner our house perfectly. The only damage we suffered was a dinged up gutter and a crunched chain link fix. My landlord can live with that.
Mom and Dad are both good. Dad dug some trenches around his house yesterday to keep from flooding out, and Mama ended up not going into work yesterday because her windshield wipers stopped working not long after she got out of her neighborhood, but other than that, their fine.
The sibs seem amazed that we've had as much rain as we did, as the college did not get half as much.
I also survived last week without the CPhT, but I am glad that he is back. Don't tell him I said so, though. He might get a big head. (And yes, I'd say that much to his face :P)
I know that I owe some of you some drabbles, and I am working on them, I promise. If you want you can blame queenb23more because her prompt has gone from drabble to full out fic.
Or you can blame the fact that I am suddenly much more social, now that I have roommates my own age.
Saturday night we went out to Eddie's Attic in Decatur with some friends from college. Sunday night we went to revival at their church. We might go again tonight as long as the weather holds.
It's actually sunny right at this second! But shhhh, don't tell. I'd like for it to stay that way for a couple more hours.
